Mandakini says that her husband did not know Hindi before the marriage. “My mother was from Himachal. So we used to go there from time to time. That’s where I met my husband. When we met him, he didn’t know Hindi. After I told his mother, she translated for him. But when he married, I had already learned Hindi,” says Mandakini.
