WhatsApp is changing a lot from June 1, 2023. But that’s only for WhatsApp Business accounts. WhatsApp’s parent company Meta has said it wants to focus on monetization this time around. So WhatsApp is going to bring many changes in its business. Initially, changes will be made to new conversion types and charges for WhatsApp Business. Besides, WhatsApp also adds three new options for business initiative categories namely Application, Authentication and Marketing.
WhatsApp Business currently charges customers Rs 0.48 per conversation. But from June 1 this year, customers will have to spend more than this. As per the new guidelines, per message will be charged at Rs 0.3082 per conversation. Marketing messages on the other hand will be charged Rs.0.7265 per conversion. Besides, the amount of money customers will be charged for the authentication will be revealed later by the company.
Inform customers about ongoing transactions, such as usage messages, after-sales notifications and billing statements. Again, authentication messages allow authentication with a one-time password. Users who do not fall into the conversational usage and authentication category are included in the advertising conversational category. In addition to advertising and various offers in marketing conversations, users will receive informational updates and invitations.
The uninitiated should know that WhatsApp business accounts are very different from normal accounts. Business accounts have advertising and marketing options. Ad messages allow you to add your own ad story to someone else’s story. But that also costs money. But you can use your regular WhatsApp account for free as before.
