Redmi A2 Launch News: Speculations have been going on for a long time. Finally got the confirmation message. Xiaomi is all set to launch its Redmi A2 series in India on May 19. Like the Redmi A1, the Redmi A2 will be an entry-level phone. For first-time smartphone buyers, this phone has some features and specifications that are very easy to use. Just like the Redmi A1 came with its normal variant along with a Plus model, the same is expected for the Redmi A2.
According to the exclusive product listing page, the design of the Redmi A2 is largely similar to the Redmi A1. The new phone also has a leather-like textured back panel that houses two cameras. The phone’s display features a waterdrop-style notch for the selfie camera. Xiaomi has hinted that their Redmi A2 phone will have an octa-core processor for performance and a powerful 5,000mAh battery. In terms of software, the phone will be powered by Android 13 based Go Edition operating system.
When the Redmi A1 Plus was launched in India, it came in two storage variants. Among them, the 2GB RAM + 32GB storage model was priced at Rs 7,499 and the 3GB RAM + 32GB storage model was priced at Rs 8,499. On the other hand the Redmi A1 was launched in a single storage variant. The 2GB RAM + 32GB storage version of the phone is priced at Rs 6,499.

In terms of specifications, the Redmi A1 sports a 6.52-inch 720P display. According to Xiaomi, it is a scratch resistant smartphone. For performance, the phone has MediaTek’s Helio A22 processor. Additionally, the phone supports dual SIM cards. One of the highlights of this handset is its pure Android 12 experience. The Redmi A2 is expected to have the same model. For photography, the phone has an 8MP main camera on the back. There is a 5MP sensor on the front of the phone for selfies.
The Redmi A1 phone has a 5000mAh battery. The phone supports 10W Micro-USB charging. On the other hand, Redmi A1 Plus had all these features. Only fingerprint reader is added as an additional feature. The Redmi A2 phone is also expected to feature this fingerprint reader. Now it will be clear on May 19 whether the feature will be offered.
