Dense green forest all around. High mountains all around. A small town called Rolf is built on its lap. Also Rangbokola River flows through this village. Sitting by the river will pass the whole day. Sitting by the side of Rangaphokola is not bad even in the evening. This is characteristic of Rollup. Still don’t understand what destination I’m talking about, where is this Rolf? Rolph is the gateway to Sikkim’s old silk route, popular with tourists. This small rolph is located in the lap of East Sikkim.
Rolfe has become a tourist center mainly around the Rangbokola River. Tourists flock here to see the suspension bridge. But if you want to find peace, you can spend two nights at Rolab. However, one of the main attractions of Rollepp is the Buddha Falls. This waterfall is 40 feet high. This waterfall is not far from the village. A walk along the bank of Rangpokola can reach the falls. Time will pass if you sit here. Also, Rangpokola here is so dry that the sound of the river can be heard even sitting in the homestay. However, the environment is also quiet in Rolep. Hence there is no sound here except the sound of the stream and the chirping of birds.
Rolf is said to be the gateway to the Silk Road. So if you want to go to Rollep, you have to reach Rangili Bazaar on Sevak Road. From this Rangili Bazaar you need to get permission to go to Rolf and Silk Route. Don’t forget to try momos at Rangeli Bazaar. The distance from Rangeli Bazaar to Rollep is 20 km. After spending the night at Rollup one can easily visit places like Padamsen, Zuluk, Nathang Valley, Kupup. If you don’t want to go to Zuluk, you can visit Arita, one of the most famous villages on the old Silk Road, from Rollup.
Arita is the oldest village in Sikkim and hence densely populated. Although crowded with tourists, Lake Arita is the main reason. Arita Lake is easily accessible from Rollup. Apart from Arita Lake, you can see places like Menmeko Lake, Keman Valley, Buddha Cave, Shoke Kola River from Rollup.
