Currently, various royal houses and zamindar houses of Bengal have become weekend destinations. You can spend the night in the centuries-old houses that were once untouched by the people. One such place is Itachuna Rajbari.

Locals call it Barkitanga. The history of Itachuna Rajbari is linked with this ‘Barkitanga’. This is the history of the time when ‘class to the country’ came. Groups ranging from Marathas to Barkhi invaded Bengal several times to collect Saut. It is customary to collect wealth and return to one’s own country. Some of them never returned. They started living permanently in this Bangladesh. An example is Itachuna Rajbari. The Kundras were the founders of Itachuna Rajbari. From this Kundra comes Kuntu. The most successful ruler was Narayan Kundu. His descendants built this palace in 1766. It was then known as Barki’s House. Now the name of the place has changed to Parkitanga.

The entire palace is decorated with high garibarga ceilings, ancient walls, huge nathmandir, huge chandeliers and huge lamp posts throughout the building. Scenes from Sonakshi Sinha and Ranveer Singh starrer ‘Loodera’ were shot here. History is hidden everywhere in this house. The house is divided into two parts. In the outer mahal there are kachari houses, accounting houses etc. It is through them that one has to reach the interior. The interior windows are small. Sitting inside offers a view of the outside, making it difficult to see inside from the outside. This is how Itachuna Rajbari thinks of housewives.

The name of the house is very strange along with the decoration of the Panedi house. Different names of the houses like Mejdidi, Paradidi, Maa, Jyathamshai, Chotabisi etc. You can spend the night here if you want. The food and drinks at Itachuna Palace are also royal. To go to Itachuna Rajbari you need to book a room in advance. Room rent starts from Tk 3,000 to Tk 10,000. You can book a room by visiting the Itachuna Rajbari online website. If breakfast and lunch package starts from 500 taka. And the dinner also has divine provisions. Polao, meat etc. Dinner packages start from Tk 350.

If you want a longer journey, you should go to Halusai via Durgapur Expressway from Kolkata. The road to the mining station. Itachuna Rajbari can be reached in ten minutes from this hall. Itachuna Rajbari can also be reached by train. Alight at Kanyan Station by any train on Burdwan Main Line. Reach Itachuna Rajbari by auto or rickshaw from Kanyon station.
