Bollywood star Dharmendra’s grandson Karan Deol got married last day. All the top Bollywood stars attended the wedding reception. But the absence of a person at the marriage ceremony turned into a discussion. Dharmendra’s second wife, Hema Malini, did not attend the function. Hema’s children also stayed away. Hema Malini has been attached to some of these decisions ever since she married Dharmendra.
Neither Hema Malini nor her children attend her husband’s manor house or the functions that are held there. Hema Malini will also avoid meeting Dharmendra’s first wife. Hema Malini has been outspoken before that she did not want her husband’s first marriage to break up. Hema Malini was also hesitant to accept Dharmendra’s love proposal as she was married. Finally, Hema Malini agreed to become the second wife of the actor as the love became intense.
Hema and Dharmendra had to listen to many accusations that day. There were even accusations that Dharmendra was a womanizer. But the actor’s first wife, Prakash Kaur, opposed such accusations. Dharmendra married Prakash Kaur in 1954. The actor was 19 years old at the time. They had four children, Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Vijeeta Deol, and Ajeeta Deol. Hema Malini and Dharmendra got married in 1980. Isha Deol and Ahana Deol are the children of the star couple.
Prakash Kaur has expressed his resentment towards Hema Malini although he has not blamed Dharmendra. I can understand the situation Hema went through. She also has to face family and friends. But if I were in Hema’s place, I wouldn’t do this. Hema can be understood as a woman. But Prakash Kaur said openly that I cannot accept this as a wife.
I don’t care how the world sees my marriage to Dharmendra. He protects us. Coming home every day and spending time with the kids. I will not say that you come to see me. But Prakash Kaur said it’s important for him to come home. Dharmendra and Hema Malini were the successful on-screen couple. Both have acted together in 42 films.
