Indian cricket evergreen hero MS Dhoni celebrates his 42nd birthday today. Dhoni is celebrating his birthday this time with the joy of leading Chennai Super Kings to the IPL title two months ago.
Dhoni has led Chennai Super Kings in the IPL this time despite knee injuries and age. It was once reported that Dhoni, who is always in the news, had a crush on Bollywood beauty Deepika Padukone.
Cricketers often fall for Bollywood actresses and fill the gossip columns. Some gossip later turned into love and even led to marriage. Couples ranging from Virat Kohli-Anushka Sharma to Hardik Pandya-Natasa Stankovic are examples of this.
MS Dhoni was once head over heels in love with Deepika Padukone but at the time Dhoni and Deepika were rumored to have broken up after the actress’ relationship with Yuvraj Singh started circulating on social media. There were also rumors that it was Yuvraj who brought Deepika into the film industry.
Even before Deepika, Dhoni’s name has been linked with the names of many Bollywood celebrities. Asin and Rai Lakshmi are some of them. Deepika Padukone made her Bollywood debut with Shahrukh Khan in Om Shanti Om in 2007, the same year MS Dhoni fell in love with the actress.
It is also reported that Dhoni asked Shahrukh to do a special screening of Om Shanti Om. Later, Deepika Padukone went to watch the T20 match against Australia at the invitation of MS Dhoni. If the reports are true, then Dhoni cut his long hair short due to Deepika’s personal interest.
Despite this, the two have never spoken publicly about their romance. It was in 2009 when the love news between actress Rai Lakshmi and Dhoni became a big topic of conversation. Love came from an acquaintance in CSK. But this love did not lead to marriage either.
Later, Dhoni falls in love and marries Sakshi who was a hotel receptionist. They now have a daughter named Siva. Like Dhoni, Sakshi and Siva are fan favourites. Deepika has also had many romances in her life. Much was made of Deepika’s romance with actor Ranbir Kapoor. So the relationship broke up.
Later, Deepika fell in love with Ranveer Singh. The two got married in 2018 on Lake Como in Italy. Only close friends and relatives attended the wedding. Wedding ceremonies were performed according to Kongini and Punjabi rituals.
The two got married after dating for six years. Their romance was strengthened when they acted together in Ramleela, Bajirao Mastani and Padmaavat.
In 2013, Deepika and Ranveer fell in love on the sets of Ramleela, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Deepika had previously said that Ranveer was always there for her when she suffered from depression.
