Kajol became a mother for the first time in 2003 with the birth of her daughter Nysa. After seven years, she was born a son, Yug, to Ajay Devgn and Kajol. But before becoming a mother in real life, the actress has played a mother on screen several times.
Viewers can see Kajol playing the role of mother again through the star’s latest project, The Trial, a web series. The actress comes to try her luck in the world of web series for the first time through The Process.
The popular American legal-political drama The Good Wife, starring Juliana Margulies, is one of the series that has fans all over the world. Kajol’s The Trial is the official Hindi version of this series.
The Trial is directed by Suparn S Verma and will stream on Disney Plus Hotstar. The series also stars Jissu Sengupta, Kubra Saith, Ali Khan, and Sheeba Chadha in lead roles.
The actor is busy promoting the series. Speaking with News 18, some of the things Kajol said about the mother-daughter relationship are getting attention. ‘I’ve played a mother about 120 times. There are differences between the two when we play mom in real life and in real life.
Says Kajol, “I think as a woman I always feel that when we see a relationship shared by a mother and a daughter or a boy on screen, it should be a little more real.”
I always tell my children… There are things about you that I don’t like, but I will always love you,’ says Kajol, adding that she tried to highlight those things when she played the mother role in The Test. Similarly, in a previous interview, Kajol also revealed why her children don’t watch her movies.
The actress revealed that the situation has not changed much. ‘My children don’t watch my movies. They have made it clear that they do not want that. A relative of mine once told me that they don’t watch my movies because I’m a very good actor. He shocked me… If I was a bad actress, they would have tolerated me crying on screen.’
“But the reason was that they couldn’t see me cry because I was acting so good.” I thought it was a compliment, but I thought it was rude. My children have the same attitude. They’re not interested in seeing my work because I cry a lot and they can’t stand it.’
“But my son Yug had told me that he had seen the trailer for Lust Stories 2 and Salaam Venki, The Trial. But he doesn’t want to see all of them completely. Kajol joked that Yug had asked her many times to make movies like Golmaal and that having two actors in the same house draws his own comparisons.
