Vidya Balan says that at that time, when no one was around, he used to go to the temple and pray to God. The actress was speaking on a podcast. Lohit Das’s Chakram was one of the first films in Vidya’s career. Mohanlal was the hero in it. But that movie didn’t happen.
After the film with Mohanlal failed to materialize, Vidya was labeled a “black cat” by the South Indian film world. After this, Vidya was excluded from many projects or they were not carried out. Vidya says that she was deeply disappointed by this and went to a temple near her house to vent her worries.
“In three years, I had two movies in my career that stopped halfway. There were nine movies that were turned down after being cast and there was one situation where I was switched after about a week of shooting. It was a very difficult moment. I am a person who prays a lot and these events have devastated me. There was a Sai Baba Mandir near my home in Chembur and I used to go there at night when no one was there’,
‘I would sit there and talk to Baba and ask him why he gave me hope if it was because of this. I didn’t get it. I didn’t do anything wrong, I felt like he was being punished for something I didn’t do,” Vidya said. Vidya Balan added that even his faith was being tested.
Vidya also says that when she was removed from around 70 commercials during that time, she began to believe that she was being ridiculed. The actress herself recalled working with Irrfan Khan on an anthology show but did not show her episode. Vidya says it was the best experience of her career. Vidya Balan said that this phase helped her understand who she really is.
Neete is Vidya’s next movie. This is a movie in a murder mystery genre. The premiere of the film is on July 7. Vidya Balan plays the role of a detective in the film.
