“We had something called IMG. Indian Music Group. They used to host classical music shows. Every year there will be. The show runs for three nights. It’s a fun show. I was on the organizing committee. I was a volunteer. We set everything up. After the evening programme, we will take a walk to Nariman Point”, says Vidya Balan.
“One time my friends challenged me. He told me to go to the Oberoi cafeteria and knock on the door to order food. They don’t know I’m an actress. I went and knocked on the door. He kept knocking. It made them feel uncomfortable. I’ve done this several times. I was hungry and begged to be allowed to eat something for three days. They turned their backs on me. Finally my friends got embarrassed and came and took me away. So I won that challenge,” says Vidya Balan.
Vidya Balan came without any tradition of star families in Bollywood. Vidya’s debut film is released after thirteen films in which Vidya dropped out midway. A Malayalam movie will also be included in the canceled movies. The first film was Parineeta. Vidya has faced many challenges since the beginning of his career. Later, with her talent and her hard work, she became the main heroine of Bollywood.
Vidya Balan has also performed in Malayalam. Vidya and Mohanlal were to play the lead roles in the film Chakram. But later the cast of the film was changed. Years later, Vidya came to Malayalam through Prithviraj’s protagonist, Urumi. Nowadays, just the name Vidya Balan is enough to make people go for the movie. Vidya’s new movie is Neeeth. The film also stars Ram Kapoor, Rahul Bose, Shahana Goswami in lead roles. The film is directed by Anu Menon.
