The casting couch has been around for years in every film industry, regardless of language. The open statements of many outstanding heroines are proof of this. However, this was not the case five years ago. Many actresses didn’t have the courage to open up about their experiences on the casting couch out of fear for their careers. Tisca Chopra is the actress who bravely shared her experience at the time. Tiska is an actress who gained attention with the film Taare Sameen Par. Tisca has also acted in Malayalam movies like Maya Bazaar and Kharishim.
Years ago, while speaking to the YouTube channel Commune India, Tisca Chopra shared her experience on the couch of a famous Bollywood director. Tisca spoke calling the director RP – Reptile. Like any other star, the star also has a bad experience at the beginning. The actor managed to escape from her. The actress’s frankness was a big talking point at the time.
Tiska says that when the first film flopped, he unexpectedly received a call from Bollywood’s top director and producer, ‘RP’. The demand was to see him for playing himself in the new film. So he went to the principal’s office.
He instructed her that she should learn to walk on her heels, get a manicure, and get a hair spa. It was all taken as a director’s advice to a beginner. All of that has been done, says Tiska.
“Later, I found out about his style from my friends. Friends asked me if I was ready to be his girlfriend until the shooting was over. But the role was necessary for me because the first movie was a flop. I became friends with him . , his wife and his son to avoid any bad attitude on his part”.
“So the shoot started in Mumbai. The shoot went smoothly. But when the outdoor shoot came, things changed. In the hotel, the rooms were next to each other on the same floor. After finishing shooting on the third day RP said we can have dinner in my room and discuss the script.”
“I am not willing to risk my dignity, so a plan has been made. If the plan is successful, I can finish the shoot and come back. If not, I will take the next flight back to India,” he said.
“She was asked to come to the room at eight in the evening. I went to the room with a bouquet and a box of chocolates. She was waiting for me in a kurta. I gave her the bouquet and gave her a hug. I also thanked her for take a beautiful picture of me.”
“He was literally shocked by my behavior. He thought I was a bug falling into his web really fast. But suddenly the phone rang in the room and it was his son on the phone,” says Tiska.
In fact, Tisca had told a few members of the team, including the director’s son, that he was going out that night. As she made her way to the manager’s room, she was instructed to forward all calls from her room to the manager’s room. That call came to the room.
“I pretended to answer the call and said that I was discussing the script in the man’s room. Even after that, I received 5 or 6 calls in a row asking me to come to the party. Then the man lost the desire to talk about the script and didn’t I did it”. I don’t have to board the flight to India. It was a lot of fun,” Tiska says.
