Has this happened to anyone else? I just noticed a strange charge on my credit card statement labeled City Of La Dot Pvb Pbphw 866-5619742 CA US. I have no idea what this is or why I was charged. I don’t live in Los Angeles and haven’t been there recently, so I’m really confused.

Is this a legitimate charge? Could someone be fraudulently using my credit card? I’m worried this might happen again in the future if it’s not resolved. Any advice on what I should do would be greatly appreciated!

  1. It seems the City Of La Dot Pvb Pbphw charge is related to the City of Los Angeles Department of Transportation Parking Violations Bureau.

This charge can appear on credit card statements for a few reasons:

    1. If you received a parking ticket in Los Angeles and paid the fine using your credit card.
    2. If you purchased a visitor or guest parking pass for your block in Los Angeles using your credit card.

The charge is generally legitimate if it is for an actual parking ticket or permit that you obtained. However, there have been reports of fraudulent charges appearing under this name as well.

    Some key things to consider:

    • If you do not live in or frequently travel to Los Angeles, and did not receive a parking ticket or permit, then this charge is likely fraudulent.
    • You should contact your credit card company immediately to dispute the charge and report it as potential fraud.
    • The credit card company can investigate the charge and reverse it if it is found to be illegitimate.
    • You may also want to contact the Los Angeles Parking Violations Bureau directly to inquire about the charge and clear up any potential mix-up.

The main advice is to be vigilant about any unexpected or suspicious charges on your credit card, and to take action right away if you believe something is fraudulent. Addressing it promptly can help prevent any further unauthorized charges. Let me know if you have any other questions!

  2. This is the third time this has happened to me in the last year. I’m so fed up with the City of LA stealing money through these bogus charges. Is there any way to stop them?
